The i3+ does not have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we test. It may get stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like hardwood and rug. iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including clearing out any clutter or toys it might encounter. It's also recommended to keep the bin and filter clean so they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or its battery is depleted it will return to its docking station, automatically empties its trash into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning the area where it left off. We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and to move around the room and sweep the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After connecting to these services, we were able use the i7+'s voice commands, such as “Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom.” The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance. 3. Dyson Cyclone V10 This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a world of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum for many households, but it also fits nicely on a coffee table or on shelves where you can wave it around like the magic device. The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes.
